Western Selects Girls – 2026 Tryout Registration (2013–2016 Birth Years)

Welcome to the Western Selects Girls Hockey Tryout Registration for the 2026 Spring/Summer season. We’re excited to evaluate the next wave of top talent looking to compete at the highest levels of elite girls’ hockey.

This registration is for new and returning players born between 2013 and 2016 who are interested in joining one of the most competitive and respected spring/summer programs in North America. For 2008-2012, please see below.

Who Should Attend?

  • All new and returning players in the 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 birth years must attend this 2-day tryout to be considered for 2026 tournament teams.

  • Tryouts are mandatory, unless the player has already attended a Western Selects regional ID skate or skills development camp. While we offer a video submission option for remote players, attending tryouts in person typically provides the best opportunity to showcase your skills, connect with our coaches, get direct feedback while on ice and experience the Western Selects culture firsthand.

Why This Tryout Matters

Western Selects teams compete exclusively in invite-only, best-on-best tournaments across the U.S. and Canada. These events feature elite-level competition and opportunities for long-term player development.

Players selected from this tryout will be considered for our 2026 tournament rosters, which may include participation in prestigious events such as:

  • War for the Roses (2013) – Edmonton, AB

  • Cowgirl Shootout (2014) Nashville, TN

  • Queens of Vegas (2015) – Las Vegas, NV

  • Park City Showdown (2016) – Park City, UT

  • North American Female Elite Showcase (2008-2016) – Blaine, MN

  • Shattuck Showdown – Faribault, MN

  • Beantown Bash and Classic – Boston, MA

These are invite-only events, and team selection is based on a combination of skill, hockey IQ, compete level and character.

  • Sunday August 10 | 7:45 AM – 9:45 AM

Join us for a two-day, high-intensity tryout designed to evaluate hockey talent for the 2026 Western Selects Spring/Summer season. This is your opportunity to play in a highly competitive, fast-paced environment alongside other elite athletes from across our Western region.

Sessions will be run by professional coaches and evaluators with experience at the collegiate and AAA levels. Players will be assessed on individual skill, hockey IQ and compete level — all within a structure designed to mirror the demands of elite tournament competition. Players will receive written feedback at the conclusion of the camp.

This is not a skills clinic — it's a high-tempo identification camp where every rep matters.

What to Expect:

  • Two 2-hour on-ice sessions (4 hours of total ice time)

  • Introduction to Western Selects Program

  • Mental and Game Preparation seminars

  • Western Selects Jerseys

  • Evaluation by professional coaches and staff

  • Competitive, best-on-best format

  • A chance to earn your place on one of North America’s most respected spring/summer girls hockey programs
